This article is aimed at studying the possibilities of modifying traditional methods of physical education for their effective use on distance education platforms in Ukraine. The goal is to develop innovative approaches that take into account the features of the virtual environment and ensure the preservation of the quality of teaching physical skills and the health of students. Various methodological tools are used to achieve the set goal. An analysis of existing methods of physical education and their adaptation to the requirements of distance education is carried out. Comparative methods are used to determine the effectiveness of modified approaches in a virtual learning environment. The obtained results indicate that the modification of traditional methods of physical education for use on distance education platforms can be successful. The developed innovative methods allow maintaining students' interest in physical activity and ensure a high level of learning efficiency. The use of online platforms in physical education is now an indispensable necessity in the conditions of active development of the educational environment and growing challenges, such as quarantine restrictions and rapid digitalization. The deployment and integration of the latest technologies in the process of physical education open up new opportunities for effective learning and interaction. A key aspect is the constant development and improvement of training methods that take into account the specifics of physical activities and provide quality control and feedback. Despite the obvious advantages, there are challenges such as limited physical space, technical challenges, and lack of personal contact and social interaction. It is also important to consider that students and teachers must actively develop competencies related to the use of online platforms, as well as demonstrate independence and technical literacy. Based on the conducted research, it can be concluded that the modification of traditional methods of physical education for distance education in Ukraine is justified and promising. The obtained results can be useful for teachers, pedagogical workers and developers of distance education platforms, who seek to improve the quality of physical education in the conditions of the modern educational environment.
