Sources on the history of domestic educational tourism

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to review the sources of research on the history of domestic educational tourism. To achieve this goal, the methods of analysis, generalization, and classification were used. The author emphasizes the importance of searching for and thoroughly analyzing sources for conducting historical and pedagogical research and ensuring its reliability. The archival collections of the Central Archives of Higher Bodies of Power and Administration of Ukraine, the Central Archives of Public Associations of Ukraine, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Mykolaiv regional, and Kyiv city archives, which store materials on the history of educational excursions, are characterized. The problems identified in the process of archival search, in particular the destruction of a significant part of the funds during the Second World War, are pointed out. The main dissertation research and publications on the topic of the study are identified. The types of regulations that regulated excursion activities with students in different periods of development are analyzed. The periodicals that published materials on the history of educational tourism in different periods from the late nineteenth century to the present are analyzed.  The importance of the archive and methodological library of the Ukrainian State Center for National and Patriotic Education, Local History and Tourism of Student Youth, publications and materials of museums of regional centers of children's tourism for the study of the history of educational tourism is determined. The main types of sources are characterized and a classification of sources on the history of educational tourism is proposed.

It has been determined that the identified sources, subject to their critical analysis, allow for a study of the history of educational tourism in Ukraine.
