The article is devoted to the analysis of the psychological and pedagogical features of the professional activity of a clergyman, which is an important part of his spiritual and social mission. The paper examines the psychological characteristics of the clergyman’s personality, which play a key role in his professional activity. Among the main traits, high emotional resilience is highlighted, helping the clergyman maintain inner balance in the face of constant spiritual workload and interaction with various categories of people. Empathy also plays a significant role — the ability to understand and feel the emotional state of parishioners, which helps build trusting relationships and create an atmosphere of mutual understanding and support.
The article also emphasizes the importance of the clergyman’s developed communication skills, which are fundamental for effective interpersonal communication, especially during worship services, church rituals, and individual spiritual conversations. The ability to convey religious doctrines and moral norms clearly and persuasively is an integral part of his pedagogical activity. The article also explores aspects of moral and ethical education, which the clergyman imparts to parishioners through teaching spiritual values, involving them in the church community, and supporting their personal spiritual development.
The article analyzes the methods and approaches used by the clergyman in pedagogical activities, including an individual approach to different categories of parishioners, and the peculiarities of educational work with children, youth, and adults. Significant attention is paid to the challenges faced by clergymen in modern society, including the rise of spiritual and moral crises, shifts in value orientations, and problems with the social adaptation of parishioners. The importance of the clergyman’s continuous professional development is emphasized, which includes both the improvement of theological knowledge and mastering new pedagogical technologies for effective interaction with different groups of people.
The article concludes by emphasizing the need for integrating psychological and pedagogical knowledge into the training of clergymen, enabling them to better fulfill their spiritual mission, promote social stability, and provide moral education within society.
When writing the work, the methods of literature analysis were used, which made it possible to systematize existing research in the field of psychological and pedagogical activity of the clergy. In addition, the observation method was used to assess the real practice of clergy in interaction with parishioners.
