Abstract

The article is devoted to the development and assessment of flexibility in students using physical education tools in order to increase their motor activity and physical performance. The motor ability flexibility was tested. An insufficient level of flexibility development was observed, which is associated with the sedentary lifestyle of young people. The indicators and levels of flexibility at the ascertaining stage of the study in girls and boys of first-year students of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University are considered. Methods: The study is based on a theoretical analysis of scientific sources on the selected topic. Pedagogical testing of the physical quality flexibility was carried out using the test "torso tilt from a sitting position" and a comparison of the control and experimental groups was carried out at the initial stage of the study. Methods of mathematical statistics were used, which allowed to establish the reliability of the differences between the studied indicators. Results: Modern scientific studies were analyzed that reveal the importance of developing the motor quality flexibility in students. The levels and indicators of flexibility in first-year students at the beginning of the study were determined using testing. Based on the data obtained, it was found out about the insufficient development of flexibility in both boys and girls. Conclusions: The results of the pedagogical experiment confirm the need to develop the motor quality flexibility in students by means of physical education to increase their working capacity and physical condition. In connection with the low indicators of students, it is proposed to continue the research to increase the level of motor quality flexibility.
