One of the key tasks of modern education is to improve the educational process, ensure accessibility of education and develop interactive forms of learning. The article examines the effectiveness of applying modern online simulators in the process of forming the professional competence of specialists in food and processing industries in the context of distance learning. The relevance and prospects of implementing online simulators in higher education are considered, especially in the context of distance learning for students in food and processing industries. The main advantages and limitations of the use of modern online simulators in the process of forming professional competence are determined. The study explores the specifics of developing professional competence among specialists in food and processing industries within the context of modern educational requirements. It also examines the peculiarities of integrating virtual reality technologies into the educational process. The effectiveness of implementing online simulators in the professional training of future specialists in food and processing industries is compared based on the current development of virtual technologies and gaming simulators, in contrast to traditional teaching methods. The results of the research prove the effectiveness of applying modern online simulators in the process of forming the professional competence of specialists in food and processing industries in the context of distance learning, while traditional learning is effective for developing practical skills.
