Evaluation of the impact of chat conversations on the involvement and success of higher education applicants

The purpose of the article was to analyze the impact of virtual communication tools, in particular, chat conversations, on the involvement and success of higher education students in the conditions of distance learning. To achieve the goal, such research methods as analysis of scientific sources, synthesis of the obtained information, comparison, and generalization were used. As a result of the study, it was found that in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine and the introduction of distance education, many students of higher education feel alienated and stressed due to the lack of personal contact with other participants in the learning process. Creating a favorable psychological environment is the key to increasing the academic achievements of students of higher education. Providing psychological comfort supports emotional well-being, increases motivation and attention, and also contributes to the growth of academic success of students of higher education in a virtual educational environment. To ensure the maximum effectiveness of distance education, many institutions of higher education use certain learning technologies. The main tools that ensure communication between the administration, teachers and students in the learning process were analyzed. It was determined that the most common tools of virtual communication in the educational process are instant messaging services, e-mail and video conferencing platforms. The peculiarities of using such services as Viber and Telegram in online education are considered. Chatbots were also identified as an effective means of communication, which provide quick access to information, improve learning outcomes, and improve the quality of the educational experience. The most convenient for participants of the educational process are such chatbots that work in messengers, in particular Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger. Diversification and enrichment of the educational process is facilitated by the use of the Moodle platform, the feature of which is the availability of various tools, in particular chat. In order to ensure the most effective and comfortable educational process in the conditions of distance learning, teachers must possess a number of professional competencies, in addition to digital skills. This will increase the motivation and interest of students of higher education, and, accordingly, improve their academic results.
