Abstract

The article aims to analyze and systematize modern approaches and methods used in teaching civic education in higher education institutions. The aim of the article is to identify the most effective pedagogical strategies that contribute to the formation of an active civic position, critical thinking and responsible behavior of higher education students.

A set of scientific methods was used in the research process, including: theoretical analysis of scientific literature on pedagogy, psychology and civic education; as well as methods of analysis.

The results of the study focus on the analysis of modern practices of teaching civic education in higher education. A trend was identified for the active use of interactive teaching methods, such as problem-based learning, case studies, debates, project activities and simulation games. The study confirmed the positive impact of these methods on the level of involvement of higher education students, the development of their communication skills, the ability to critical thinking and the formation of value orientations necessary for active civic participation.

Conclusions. The results of the study indicate the need for further implementation and adaptation of modern approaches and methods of teaching civic education in higher education. Effective combination of theoretical knowledge with practical activities, use of interactive technologies and active forms of learning contribute to the high-quality training of future citizens who are able to take responsibility for the development of society and the state. The article substantiates the importance of constant updating of pedagogical strategies taking into account modern social challenges and needs of youth.
