Abstract

The purpose of the article is to describe the results of an ascertaining experiment aimed at studying the state of formation and manifestation of readiness of pianist students of the faculties of arts for independent interpretation of musical works. The following methods were used in the research: theoretical (analysis of psychological, pedagogical and musicological scientific literature within the framework of the problem under study), empirical (observation, questionnaire, evaluation, ascertaining experiment) and methods of mathematical statistics (processing of the results of control measurements of the ascertaining experiment). The results of the analysis of literary sources show that the lack of awareness of the patterns of formation and manifestation of readiness of pianist students for independent interpretation of musical works negatively affects the purposeful development of their performing mastery. Conclusions. As a result of the ascertaining experiment, pianist students of the faculties of arts who did not force themselves to systematically work independently on musical works by willpower, recorded a higher state of the phenomenon under study just like in student pianists who motivated themselves by receiving approval from the piano teacher for independently formed performing skills and abilities. Students of arts faculties who paid attention to the determination of motives in musical works during independent work on them showed a higher state of the studied phenomenon than those who did not pay due attention to it. In addition, student pianists who showed confidence in their own ability to achieve appropriate reproduction on the instrument of the metro-rhythmic organization of melodic-intonational lines of musical works during independent work on them demonstrated a higher state of the phenomenon under study than those who doubted such ability. It is proven that the prospect of further research of the readiness of pianist students to independently interpret musical works is the development of a methodology for experimentally forming the specified phenomenon.
