Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study effective strategies for improving the qualifications of medical workers in Ukraine by analyzing the potential of online educational platforms. To achieve the research goal, a set of scientific methods was used, including critical analysis of scientific literature, tabular method, and scientific abstraction method. The results of the study highlight the current state of online platforms and electronic resources in supporting medical education. Particular importance is given to state initiatives (the Public Health Center, the Academy of the National Health Service of Ukraine), as well as platforms implemented with the support of international partners, which offer a wide range of online courses, webinars, and modular programs on current health issues. The advantages of digital learning for doctors and nursing staff are revealed, in particular its flexibility, the ability to independently regulate the pace of learning, access to high-quality content without geographical restrictions, as well as the integration of the latest teaching methods: virtual simulations, gamification, and adaptive educational trajectories. The importance of developing not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, ethical components, and interdisciplinary thinking was emphasized, which is especially relevant in the context of ongoing reforms in the medical field. At the same time, a number of limitations have been identified, including technical barriers, low levels of digital literacy, weak regulatory oversight, lack of incentives, and insufficient adaptation of foreign programs to the national medical context. The article proposes strategic steps to address these issues: creating a regulatory framework, certifying online courses, introducing elements of artificial intelligence, localizing educational content, developing regional digital education centers, and involving professional associations in the development of educational materials. The conclusions indicate that online education can become a powerful tool for the sustainable development of medical personnel, provided there is systematic support, methodological clarity, institutional partnership, and consideration of the national context. The development of an effective digital educational space will contribute to improving medical care standards, strengthening the staffing of the healthcare system, and integrating Ukrainian specialists into the global professional community.
