Purpose. The purpose of the study was to determine the physical condition of women aged 21–35 who participate in the BodyPump group fitness training program based on the assessment of functional and hemodynamic indicators.
Methods. The study used the following methods: biomedical, pedagogical (pedagogical experiment), and methods of mathematical statistics. The obtained baseline data were processed using the STATISTICA and Microsoft® Excel software. The study involved 50 women aged 21 to 35 years who attend BodyPump training sessions. The average age was 28.56 ± 1.54 years, indicating the homogeneity of the sample and its belonging to the first period of adulthood. For all participants, age, height, body weight, blood pressure (systolic and diastolic), and resting heart rate were measured. Based on the obtained data, the mean arterial pressure and the physical condition index were calculated using the standardized method by O. Pyrohova. Descriptive statistics methods were used for statistical processing: arithmetic mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation.
Results. The physical condition index according to Pyrohova in the sample averaged 0.693, which corresponds to an above-average level of physical condition according to the normative interpretation scale. The coefficient of variation of the physical condition index was 11.10%, which exceeds the conventional threshold of high homogeneity and indicates moderate variability. Most participants had average resting heart rate values (within 66–78 bpm) and normal blood pressure values. This indicates a sufficient level of functional adaptation of the cardiovascular system to regular physical activity.
Conclusions. The obtained results allow us to conclude that women aged 21–35 who participate in the BodyPump program demonstrate an above-average level of physical condition with moderate variability. The method by O. Pyrohova proved to be an effective tool for the comprehensive assessment of the functional condition of fitness program participants. Further research may focus on a comparative analysis of changes in the physical condition index over time under the influence of various types of training loads.
