The Use of Multimedia Resources in the Process of Developing Information and Digital Competence of Future Teachers of Ukrainian Language and Literature

In the context of globalisation and the digital transformation of education, there is an urgent need to improve the quality of training for future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature. Traditional pedagogical technologies do not always ensure the development of the necessary digital competencies, which necessitates the implementation of innovative learning tools, particularly multimedia resources that enhance interactivity and the practical orientation of the educational process. This study aims to provide a theoretical understanding of the effectiveness of multimedia resource integration in the formation of information and digital competence among future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature, in order to improve their professional readiness to implement innovative educational technologies. Relevance. The increasing volume of information and rapid technological advancements in data processing necessitate the modernisation of educational processes. In Ukraine, challenges such as limited access to modern digital resources, insufficient teacher training, and regulatory barriers complicate the integration of multimedia technologies into learning. This highlights the need for a systematic investigation into the potential of multimedia tools in training competitive educators. Research methods include theoretical analysis of scholarly literature on the formation of information and digital competence of future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, analysis of normative documents, conceptual and framework materials, as well as systematisation, generalisation, and structural-logical analysis of scientific sources to determine the essence of digital competence and the role of multimedia resources in teacher training. Results. The study confirmed that the integration of multimedia resources into the educational process contributes to a higher level of information and digital competence among future teachers, enhances their cognitive engagement, and promotes critical thinking and creativity. The pedagogical conditions for the effective integration of multimedia technologies were identified: improving the digital competence of educators, developing methodological support, providing psychological and pedagogical support to students, and promoting an innovative culture in higher education institutions. Conclusions. The effective integration of multimedia resources into the professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature is a key factor in the modernisation of the educational process in accordance with the demands of the information society.
