The purpose of the study is to analyze modern approaches to the formation and development of soft skills in applicants to higher education institutions in Ukraine in the context of educational reforms. The work analyzes key methods and innovative practices used in global and national educational practice, in particular interactive technologies, project-based learning, blended learning, coaching, mentoring, Edtech, peer-to-peer learning, interdisciplinary work, and service learning. The importance of developing critical thinking, communication, teamwork, leadership and creativity skills for training competitive specialists is determined. Particular attention is paid to the compliance of the implemented approaches with European standards and labor market requirements. It has been established that the effective formation of soft skills is possible only with the integration of traditional and innovative educational technologies, active cooperation between educational institutions and employers, and an orientation towards the personal development of the student. In the process of writing the study, a set of methods of scientific analysis was used. In particular, theoretical analysis and generalization of modern scientific works and regulatory documents in the field of education were applied in order to clarify the essence and role of soft skills in the professional training of higher education applicants. The method of systematization and classification made it possible to structure advanced educational technologies. In addition, a prognostic approach was used to determine promising areas of development of soft skills in the context of reforming higher education in Ukraine. The results of the study helped to identify the most effective approaches that promote the development of critical thinking, communication, and leadership. At the same time, problems associated with an insufficient methodological base and a lack of practical experience of teachers in applying innovative methods were identified. The conclusions confirm that the development of soft skills is a key factor in the modernization of higher education in Ukraine. To increase the effectiveness of this process, it is necessary to improve the methodological base, ensure the training of teachers in the use of innovative technologies, and expand cooperation between educational institutions and employers.
