Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of a methodology for the professional training of future physical education and sport specialists, based on the use of cyclic sports (track and field athletics and swimming). The relevance of the topic is due to the need to improve the quality of education in the field of physical education and sport. Methods. The study is based on a systematic analysis of scientific and methodological literature, which made it possible to identify the main trends and unresolved issues in the field of professional training. A pedagogical experiment was conducted at Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University with the participation of students majoring in "Secondary Education (Physical Education)" and "Physical Education and Sport". The study included the formation of a control and an experimental group, as well as the development and implementation of a specialized methodology. Physical fitness tests, questionnaires, and methods of mathematical statistics were used to evaluate the results. Results. The developed methodology, which integrates technical, tactical, methodological, and pedagogical aspects of training in cyclic sports, has proven its effectiveness. The pedagogical experiment showed that the students in the experimental group demonstrated a significant increase in indicators of endurance, speed, and the level of methodological knowledge and skills compared to the control group. The average increase in results in running tests was 15%; in swimming – 12%; and the level of theoretical knowledge – 35%, which is confirmed by statistically significant changes. The results obtained indicate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for optimizing the educational process. Conclusions. The study confirmed that the purposeful use of cyclic sports is an effective means of optimizing the professional training of future specialists. The integration of specialized methods into the educational process contributes not only to the formation of practical skills but also to the development of pedagogical thinking and the ability to analyze and adjust training programs, which enhances the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.
