Abstract: The aim of the article was to analyze the pedagogical potential of ballroom dance in the system of aesthetic education of younger schoolchildren. The study used such general scientific methods as the analysis of scientific literature, comparative analysis of dance teaching methods, synthesis and systematization of the obtained data, generalization. The results of the study showed that the younger school age is characterized by the child's active entry into the sphere of social maturity, which is manifested in the formation of a worldview, the development of emotional-volitional and cognitive spheres, the acquisition of experience in interpersonal communication and the laying of the foundations of responsible behavior. In this context, aesthetic education acquires special importance, which acts as one of the key means of developing the child's creative potential and the formation of its value orientations. Dance occupies an important place in the modern system of aesthetic education, as it contributes to the formation of aesthetic tastes and needs of the individual, the upbringing of positive character traits (confidence in speaking in front of an audience, respect for others), as well as the development of communication skills. The main tasks that the teacher implements when introducing children to the art of dance are determined: the establishment of a healthy lifestyle, the expansion of the worldview, the upbringing of diligence and the desire for self-improvement, the formation of humanistic values and aesthetic taste. Ballroom dancing is characterized as an effective means of harmonious development of the personality. The process of teaching children of primary school age ballroom dancing is active and creative in nature, as it combines physical activity with artistic self-expression, stimulates imagination and emotional perception of music. The effectiveness of the educational process in a ballroom dance team is ensured by an atmosphere of creative joy from joint work, a trusting and at the same time demanding environment, focused mainly on the positive. Creating such an atmosphere requires a comprehensive approach from the teacher. The conclusions indicate that the aesthetic education of primary schoolchildren is an integral part of their harmonious development, aimed at the formation of an emotional and value attitude to the world, the development of artistic taste and creative abilities. Ballroom dancing in the system of aesthetic education of younger schoolchildren is a powerful pedagogical tool that combines the physical, emotional, and aesthetic development of children.Downloads
