Abstract

The article presents the justification of the program of classes with the priority use of skipping means in physical education lessons to improve the physical fitness of high school students. Objective. The purpose is to determine the impact of skipping means on the indicators of physical fitness of students in 10-11 grades at the physical education lessons. Methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experiment, pedagogical testing, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The study involved 145 high school students in 10-11 grades, who were divided into four experimental and four control groups depending on age and gender. The experiment lasted throughout the school year. In order to improve the physical fitness of high school students, a program of classes using skipping means was developed. This included 20 physical education lessons during the third quarter, as well as during the academic year in the preparatory, main or final parts of physical education lessons in the variable modules “Athletics”, “Football”, “Volleyball” depending on the tasks of the classes. Special attention was paid to the selection of skipping means for the development of physical qualities – endurance, strength, speed-power abilities, agility, flexibility. The results of the study proved the effectiveness of using skipping means in the physical education of high school students. A significant increase in the indicators of physical fitness indices – strength, speed, speed-power, endurance indices, Ruffier index and the total sum of points according to the assessment system in boys and girls of the experimental groups was determined. The overall assessment of physical fitness significantly increased from average to above average in 10th grade boys and 11th grade girls. Conclusions. The results of the study allow us to conclude that it is possible to purposefully use skipping means to develop physical qualities in the process of physical education of high school students in various forms of classes.
