The role of volunteer and community organizations in social protection

Abstract: The article examines the role of volunteer and public organizations in the field of social protection of the population of Ukraine. The оbjective of the article is to clarify the role of public and volunteer organizations in the social protection system of Ukraine. The study uses methods of analysis of scientific literature, regulatory legal acts, statistical data, as well as comparative and systemic approaches. The use of complex analysis made it possible to determine the main aspects of public and volunteer organizations, their impact on increasing the effectiveness of state social policy and providing targeted assistance to vulnerable categories of the population. As a result, attention is focused on the fact that social protection is an important element of the functioning of any state, as it is aimed at ensuring decent living conditions for every person. It has been established that volunteer organizations play an important role in mobilizing material and human resources, providing humanitarian and psychological assistance, as well as in forming a culture of mutual assistance. At the same time, public organizations focus on information and legal support, representing the interests of social groups, monitoring the quality of social services and implementing local initiatives. Comparative analysis showed that volunteer organizations have a greater responsiveness, while public associations provide stability and legal legitimacy in the field of social protection. The article emphasizes that despite the presence of a certain amount of scientific research, in the future it is advisable to pay attention to the development of integrated approaches to assessing the contribution of these organizations to building a long-term and sustainable system of social protection. The conclusions of the study confirm that effective interaction of the state, public and volunteer organizations is the key to effective social policy, capable of responding to current challenges and guaranteeing social stability in society.
