Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyse the role of the educational component ‘Theory and Methods of Physical Education’ in the professional training of physical education teachers for the professional improvement and development of soft skills of future specialists, to determine its significance as a profiling discipline and to justify methodological approaches to teaching. Methods: systematic analysis of literary sources, observation, methods of mastering knowledge and skills of the basics of theory and methodology of physical education, effective teaching methods and technologies. Results and conclusions. In their work, researchers emphasise that ‘Theory and Methods of Physical Education’ is a leading educational component in the training of future physical education teachers. It is this discipline that shapes the ability to professionally analyse activities, select and apply effective teaching methods and technologies, evaluate the results of the educational process, and use the acquired knowledge in practical activities to create a safe and health-promoting educational environment. The paper examines the role of TMPE in the formation of a teacher's professional competencies, their professional development and the improvement of soft skills. The authors focus on modern innovative approaches to teaching this discipline, including the use of digital technologies, video analysis, gamification and biological feedback. This ensures the creation of a modern learning environment that promotes self-control and high-quality training of future specialists. It is noted that the importance of TMFV lies not only in the formation of methodological knowledge, but also in the development of creative thinking, the ability to engage in innovative activities and professional reflection. It integrates theory with practice, ensuring the development of both professional and social competencies of students. It has been established that the results obtained are the basis for further theoretical and practical research aimed at improving the quality of education in Ukraine.
