Abstract

Abstract. Modern professional sports require not only a high level of physical and technical preparation but also a deep understanding of game strategies, their development, and effective implementation. Despite a significant amount of research, sports science lacks unified methodological approaches to analyzing game performance, which complicates the objective evaluation of various strategies. This determines the relevance of the present study. The aim of the study is to provide a theoretical foundation for and develop methodological principles for forming game strategies in team sports based on a systematic analysis of athletes' game performance. To achieve the set goals, a set of scientific methods was used. Theoretical analysis and synthesis allowed for the study and systematization of existing scientific sources. Pedagogical observation of athletes' game performance provided the opportunity to collect empirical data. Game modeling allowed for the study of player interaction and the effectiveness of strategic decisions under controlled conditions. In addition, methods of mathematical statistics were used for a quantitative analysis of the collected indicators. Results. Within the framework of the experimental testing of the developed methodology, a comparative analysis of the game performance of two football teams was conducted: the Dynamo Kyiv Youth Football School named after V. Lobanovskyi, which employs a "ball control" strategy, and the "Zmina" Youth Sports School (Kyiv), which uses a "counter-attacking game" strategy. The analysis of three matches demonstrated that the Dynamo Kyiv team dominated in key indicators related to ball control (possession percentage, number of passes, shots on goal). However, despite a significant statistical advantage, the final match result was a draw. This convincingly proves that quantitative indicators alone are not exhaustive for evaluating the effectiveness of a game strategy and require a deeper analysis. Conclusions. The study analyzed and systematized key theoretical approaches to understanding the essence of game strategy and tactics. The need for a comprehensive approach to analyzing game performance, which includes both quantitative and qualitative indicators, was substantiated. Based on the obtained data, a comprehensive three-component model for analyzing game strategy was developed and experimentally tested, which allows for a comprehensive evaluation of athletes' game performance. It has been proven that the effectiveness of a game strategy does not always depend on a statistical advantage but is often determined by the rationality and timeliness of tactical decisions aimed at converting goal-scoring opportunities.
