Abstract: The purpose of the study is to experimentally verify the effectiveness of strength-oriented physical exercises in the process of physical education of students, in particular their impact on improving physical development, motor skills, and the functional state of the body. To achieve this goal, a set of complementary methods was used: pedagogical testing, anthropometry, somatometry, physiometry, as well as methods of mathematical statistics, which ensured the objectivity and reliability of the results obtained. The study involved 192 first-year students (130 boys and 62 girls) aged 17–18, who belonged to the main medical group in terms of health and had no contraindications to physical education. The research program involved the systematic performance of strength exercises throughout the academic semester, taking into account the individual morphofunctional characteristics of each participant, which made it possible to optimize the load and avoid overexertion. The article presents the results of an analysis of the effectiveness of athletics training on the physical condition of students, as well as on their attitude towards the academic discipline of “Physical Education.” The data obtained convincingly prove that the introduction of rationally selected strength training contributes to significant positive changes: an increase in strength indicators, improvement in the functioning of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, increased endurance and overall performance, normalization of the ratio of muscle and fat mass, and improved motor coordination. An important result was the formation of a stable motivation among students to engage in physical culture, which manifested itself in increased attendance at classes, more active performance of exercises, and awareness of the value of physical activity for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thus, the results of the experiment confirm the feasibility of integrating strength training methods into the physical education system of higher education institutions. This not only improves the physical fitness of students, but also fosters a positive attitude towards regular exercise, which is an important factor in maintaining and strengthening the health of the younger generation.
