Abstract: The article examines the process of developing color and graphic competence as a key component of the professional and practical training of design students, which determines the development of creative thinking, professional skills, and practical abilities of future design specialists. The purpose of the study is to identify effective pedagogical conditions and methods for developing color and graphic competence in students during their professional and practical training. The research methods include analysis of scientific literature, comparative and terminological reviews of concepts of coloristics, graphics, composition, and perspective, pedagogical experiments, practical assignments, observations, and content analysis of student work, as well as comparison of results before and after the introduction of innovative approaches and assessment of students' integrative skills. This comprehensive approach made it possible to assess the relationship between theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and personal qualities of students in the process of developing color and graphic competence. The results of the study showed that the most effective are project-based and interactive teaching methods that contribute to improving color perception, mastering graphic techniques, learning compositional principles, and developing perspective thinking. Pedagogical recommendations for integrating color science and graphic practices into the educational process have been summarized. It has been established that the systematic combination of theoretical knowledge and practical tasks stimulates the development of professional independence, creativity, and critical thinking in students. The conclusions of the study confirm the effectiveness of interactive and project-oriented approaches in developing color and graphic competence. The theoretical significance lies in the methodological justification of designer training, while the practical significance lies in the development of interactive tasks and artistic and graphic exercises that increase the effectiveness of the learning process. Prospects for further research are related to the introduction of digital techniques and the expansion of practical case studies.Downloads
