Abstract

Abstract: Based on the experience of Ukrainian professionals, who received extensive coverage and support at the Global Mental Health Summit (Rome, 2022), the powerful effect of full-scale invasion by russia on physical and mental health is most clearly expressed in vulnerable groups (women, children) seeking protection and refuge [1]. The positive impact of engaging combatants` family members in physical culture is seen in stronger family bonds, providing emotional support for the veterans during the transition from the military to civilian life and, ultimately, to the family and community. The research aim is to analyse the indicators of motor activity and physical status among family members of combat veterans in order to integrate them into the health and recreation community. The study applied a range of methods, including: scientific literature analysis, questionnaires, tabular and graphical methods, and mathematical statistics methods. The research was conducted in 2024-25, with a sample of 38 women of the first mature age. The results revealed systemic limitations in motor activity and compromised physical status among women – family members of combatants. Pedometer data showed that 36,8 % of participants were sedentary and 42 % had low activity levels, with Median IPAQ values (≈ 14 min / week of vigorous / moderate activity) critically below WHO recommendations (150 – 300 min/week) [2]. Anthropometric indicators (BMI 26,4 ± 4,7) suggested overweight and elevated cardiometabolic risk. Conclusions: The identified interrelationships between individual physiological parameters substantiate the necessity of developing comprehensive health and recreation programmes utilising wellness fitness and mental practices. These programmes are created not only to improve physical condition but also to promote social adaptation and emotional and psychological well-being for this vulnerable category of women.
