Abstract: Geographical education at school is interdisciplinary in nature, as it combines knowledge of natural, social, economic and environmental sciences. Its specificity lies in the fact that it not only transmits factual knowledge about the world, but also develops students' spatial thinking, cartographic skills, and the ability to analyze the interaction between nature and humans. Modern geographic education in Ukraine is gradually transforming: from theoretical memorization of facts to the formation of a competent citizen who is aware of the space, resources, and opportunities of his or her region and country. The purpose is to consider the peculiarities of integrating elements of recreational geography into the content of school geographic education. Methods. The study used scientific methods, including theoretical generalization, formalization, analysis and synthesis, as well as logical generalization of the results. Results. Recreational geography focuses on the study of recreational conditions and resources, both natural and socio-economic. The integration of recreational geography elements into the content of school geographic education contributes to the formation of tourist and local history and spatial competence; development of ecological thinking and sustainable consumption; stimulation of civic activity - students explore their region; preparation of students for real life situations: trip planning, budget, orientation on the ground. Some positive examples that are already being implemented are considered: the NUS program includes local history and environmental modules, where recreational topics are possible (grades 5-6); topics on resource potential, tourist attractiveness, and others (grades 8-10). The main problems are highlighted, and the ways of updating and prospects for integrating elements of recreational geography into the content of school geographic education are identified. Conclusion. The integration of recreational geography into the school curriculum is not just an update of the content of education, but a way to form a modern citizen who is able to appreciate the nature, culture, and resources of his or her land and responsibly plan activities in space. This requires systematic teacher support, modern materials, and cross-curricular collaboration, as well as active student involvement in project-based learning and local initiatives.
