The relevance of the study is determined by the rapid digitalization of the educational environment and the necessity of implementing innovative technologies capable of improving the efficiency and quality of training future medical professionals. In medical universities, the use of chatbots and generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems has become particularly significant, as they make it possible to design adaptive educational trajectories, simulate clinical situations, and provide instant feedback throughout the learning process. The purpose of this article is to clarify the role of chatbots and generative AI technologies in enhancing the educational process for medical university students, identify their potential for raising the level of professional training, and develop practical solutions to overcome the barriers and risks arising from their implementation. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that combines the analysis of scientific publications, the generalization of international experience in the integration of AI into medical education, and the systematization of practical outcomes of its application in the national context. Methods of comparative analysis, content analysis, interpretation of results of educational experiments, and modeling of possible scenarios for the use of intelligent technologies were employed. The results of the study demonstrated that chatbots and generative AI create conditions for personalized learning, the development of clinical reasoning, and the strengthening of students’ communication competencies. It was established that their application supports the formation of practical skills in a safe environment, reduces the burden of routine tasks on educators, and enhances the overall efficiency of the educational process. It is shown that simulation platforms based on generative AI can gradually complicate scenarios and potentially increase students’ involvement. The conclusions confirmed that chatbots and generative AI can serve as an essential component of contemporary medical education, ensuring its flexibility, individualization, and practical orientation. It was established that their implementation requires gradual integration with traditional teaching methods, improvement of educators’ qualifications, and the creation of ethical standards for their use.Prospects for further research lie in the development of national educational platforms for simulation-based learning with the use of generative AI, the unification of methodological standards for its integration into curricula, and the study of the long-term impact of such technologies on the quality of professional training and the safety of future clinical practice.
