Abstract

Abstract: The article explores the possibilities of using EdTech platforms in the process of developing the lexical competence of primary school pupils in foreign language classes. It emphasizes that lexical competence is a key component of communicative competence, since the vocabulary of primary school students directly affects their success in learning grammar and developing speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. The authors of the article justify the feasibility of introducing digital educational technologies into practical training in foreign language teaching, in particular due to their suitability for the age characteristics of primary school pupils, the need for visualization, emotional support, gamification, and individualization of the educational process. EdTech platforms ensure a high level of engagement of primary school students in learning activities, stimulate cognitive motivation, and contribute to the creation of an interactive language environment. The article provides an analysis of the functionality of leading educational platforms (Lingokids, Novakid, Voxy, SmartyKids, ClassDojo, BBC Bitesize, Duolingo ABC, Blooket, TinyTap, Flocabulary, Read Along, Genially), which provide opportunities for students to build their vocabulary through games, videos, interactive exercises, and multimedia tools. Examples of the integration of platforms into the educational process, their effectiveness, and advantages over traditional teaching methods are considered. It was concluded that EdTech tools have significant potential for developing the foreign language lexical competence of primary school pupils in the modern digital educational environment. Key words: EdTech platforms, lexical competence, primary school students, foreign language, gamification, multimedia learning, digital education.
