Abstract: Today, higher education is undergoing a transition to competency-based approaches, which is due to the need to adapt to the requirements of the modern labor market, integrate into the European educational space, and focus on the development of practical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to make independent decisions. The training of choreographers involves the integration of technical skills, theoretical knowledge, creativity, and cultural understanding to form highly qualified specialists. The purpose of the article was to substantiate the pedagogical conditions, methods, and means of effectively combining classical and folk stage dance in the system of professional training of future choreographers. To achieve the goal, general scientific research methods were used, namely analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalization. As a result of the study, it was found that professional competence is a complex characteristic of a specialist's ability to act effectively in his professional field, which is based on the general and special knowledge acquired in the process of training, skills formed, practical experience, and also developed business and personal qualities. A professional choreographer, in turn, combines the roles of a teacher, tutor and ballet master in his activities, which requires a wide range of competencies from him - from methodological and creative to organizational and communicative. The main professional competencies of a choreographer include performing, staging, pedagogical, communicative, cultural and artistic, reflective and analytical. Narrowly professional competencies are considered separately, in particular methodical and emotional, which are formed on the basis of deep mastery of the technique and style of the main directions of choreographic art. It is noted that the leading role in the formation of all these competencies is played by the educational process, which involves systematic training in mastering the basics of various types of dance, in particular classical and folk-stage. The characteristic features of these two types of dance are given, their relationship and pedagogical potential are determined. The conducted research gives grounds to conclude that the formation of professional competencies of a choreographer is a complex and multifaceted process that requires the integration of various directions of choreographic art. Analysis of the role of classical and Ukrainian folk and stage dance showed that it is their complex that ensures the harmonious development of a future specialist: classical dance forms the technical basis, discipline, plasticity and musicality, while folk and stage dance develops emotionality, national identity, stage expressiveness and creativity.Downloads
