Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical foundations and practical conditions for developing students’ social responsibility within the university educational environment, which has become particularly significant in the context of the transformation of the higher education quality assurance system and the implementation of principles of partnership-based interaction. It is demonstrated that social responsibility constitutes a key component of the culture of quality, manifested through students’ conscious participation in decision-making, the development of educational programmes, adherence to academic integrity, and engagement in civic initiatives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the conceptual foundations and practical mechanisms for fostering social responsibility among students and academic staff through partnership interaction as a means of enhancing the internal quality assurance system in higher education. The research methods include a theoretical analysis of scholarly works in pedagogy, sociology, and education; the systematization and classification of key concepts; a content analysis of regulatory documents, ESG-2015 standards, and NAQA recommendations; and a comparative method aimed at distinguishing the characteristics of traditional and partnership-based models of interaction. The study's results substantiate the importance of social responsibility as an integral component of quality culture and identify its manifestations at the individual, group, and institutional levels. The study reveals the potential of partnership interaction between teachers and students in ensuring the quality of education and proposes a model for developing social responsibility that encompasses motivational and value-based, educational and informational, practical, and reflective-analytical components. The organizational and pedagogical conditions that enhance responsible behaviour among students are identified, including the creation of a value-oriented educational environment, the development of a culture of academic integrity, the involvement of students in decision-making processes, and the expansion of opportunities for their social and civic engagement. The conclusions demonstrate that the social responsibility of students and academic staff is an essential prerequisite for the formation of a sustainable internal quality assurance system in higher education. A partnership-based model of interaction contributes to the creation of an open, ethical, and learner-oriented environment, stimulates student participation in decision-making, and fosters positive institutional change. The obtained results can be used to improve quality assurance practices and serve as a basis for further research in the fields of civic education and university social responsibility.
