Abstract

Abstract. The article presents a comprehensive study of the theoretical and methodological foundations for the development of emotional intelligence of students of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the context of contemporary transformations of the educational space. Key provisions regarding the essence and structure of emotional intelligence as a complex personal characteristic are identified, encompassing emotional awareness, empathy, self-regulation, intrinsic motivation, and social and communicative skills. Its significance for the professional training of future specialists is emphasized, particularly in terms of the ability to interact effectively within a team, make balanced decisions, cope with stressful situations, and maintain constructive behavior during educational and professional activities. The developed methodology is based on a combination of training-based, interactive, and reflective technologies, as well as the use of digital tools to foster skills of emotional self-regulation and self-analysis. The methodology is implemented in stages and includes diagnostic, formative, and analytical-evaluative phases. The article describes a set of exercises and pedagogical techniques aimed at developing emotional awareness, the ability to interpret others’ emotional states, mastering mechanisms of emotional pause, and forming skills of empathic communication and constructive interaction. The pedagogical experiment confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, as evidenced by increased indicators of emotional resilience, higher levels of empathy, and improved self-regulation skills among students. The obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating the methodology into academic courses and supplementary educational programs. The proposed approach may serve as a basis for further research aimed at adapting the methodology to various specialties and conditions of digital learning.
