Abstract. The aim of this article is to analyze the effectiveness of the integrated use of flashcards and online tests for vocabulary development of higher education students in English and to determine the potential impact of this approach on long-term retention of vocabulary and active use of learned words in educational and communicative practices. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that most existing works consider flashcards and online tests separately, do not investigate their integration with multimodal resources and adaptive testing, and do not assess the long-term effect of vocabulary acquisition in higher education students. The article conducts a systematic analysis of modern methods of using flashcards and online tests, with a special emphasis on the use of multimodal resources that combine text, audio and images, as well as the possibilities of adaptive testing for personalizing learning. The advantages and limitations of each approach are considered, gaps in the practical implementation of integrated methods are highlighted, as well as potential ways to improve the effectiveness of vocabulary acquisition. It was determined that multimodal resources stimulate different channels of information perception, increase student motivation and contribute to better memorization of words, while adaptive testing allows you to optimize the repetition of complex words and increases the individualization of learning. The results of the analysis indicate that the integration of flashcards and online tests into the learning process can significantly increase the efficiency of learning new words, contribute to the formation of strong associative connections and ensure long-term preservation of vocabulary. An integrated approach also promotes the active use of vocabulary in educational and communicative tasks, forms productive speech competence, increases students' independence in learning and stimulates the development of cognitive skills necessary for the practical application of language in various communicative situations. The article demonstrates the scientific and practical value of the integrated approach, confirms its effectiveness and offers methodological recommendations for the introduction of modern digital tools into the English language teaching process in higher educational institutions. The proposed approach can serve as the basis for developing personalized learning strategies, increasing the effectiveness of vocabulary acquisition, and ensuring a sustainable long-term effect in the process of students' language training.Downloads
