Forming the sociocultural competence of the future German teachers

The purpose of the article is to investigate the forming and applying of the sociocultural competence for the future teachers of the German language, approaches to its using in classes with students of foreign language specialties and to analyze the effectiveness of the studied educational activity of higher education seekers. Research methods. When writing the article, the author used the following general scientific and linguistic methods: deduction and induction (for processing the theoretical and fact material); descriptive (for generalizing the scientific provisions on the problem under study); scientific analysis (for studying the features of the forming and effectiveness of the applying of the sociocultural competence of the future teachers of the German language); elements of the linguistic approach (to characterize the studied practical assignments for the formation and confirmation of the effectiveness of the application of the sociocultural competence of higher education seekers). Research results. The study was conducted on applying the sociocultural competence in the educational process in the higher education institution, in particular, in the process of teaching the practical course of the German language. The article substantiates the feasibility of forming and applying the sociocultural competence in the process of teaching the practical course of the German language for the future teachers. The importance of such a component of the curriculum for developing the general educational competencies of students and its rational use in the educational and professional activities in the future was emphasized. Conclusions. The analysis of the theoretical sources on forming and applying the sociocultural competence for the future teachers of the German language showed that the problem is sufficiently researched in various aspects. At the same time, the systematicity of its applying in the educational process is insufficient, especially in the practical aspect, since modern education aims to create the effective learning conditions for training future German language teachers. The process of forming and applying the sociocultural competence can expand and deepen students’ learning activities when such competence becomes both the goal and tool of learning process.Downloads
