Purpose. The aim of the study is to analyze the prospects for the strategic implementation of disc golf (DG) as an inclusive, economically accessible, and socially significant means of physical development and active recreation in Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to DG's potential as a scalable tool for the socio-psychological rehabilitation of veterans and the civilian population in the context of post-war recovery. Methods. The study is based on a theoretical analysis of current scientific publications focused on the physiological, psychosocial, and urban-ecological aspects of DG development. Empirical data were processed, including metrics related to moderate cardio load (more than 5,600 steps per game) and epidemiological indicators regarding its low injury risk. A comparative analysis of DG's advantages in relation to Ukraineʼs social needs was conducted, along with an examination of the regulatory framework, particularly the State Building Norms (DBN B.2.2-5:2011). Results. The findings confirm that DG is a highly adaptable and effective tool for transitioning individuals from clinical to social rehabilitation. It does not require high levels of physical fitness, is easily modifiable for individuals with disabilities (including those with prosthetics or using wheelchairs), and has a positive impact on emotional well-being by reducing stress and symptoms of PTSD. From an economic perspective, DG demands minimal investment: a basic school set of 5 discs costs approximately $27, and courses can be established in existing green areas provided that DBN regulations are followed (e.g., a minimum distance of 40 meters from residential zones). Ukraine already possesses an established institutional infrastructure, including the Ukrainian Flying Disc Federation (UFLD) and unofficial structure Ukrainian Disc Golf Association (UDGA), a PDGA-certified permanent 18-hole course (Muromets Disc Golf Park in Kyiv), and experience hosting international C-Tier tournaments. Conclusions. Disc golf is a highly promising sport for nationwide expansion in Ukraine due to its low cost, inclusivity, and social utility. Its integration into the national system of physical education and rehabilitation programs can contribute to the development of a physically active and socially cohesive society. Strategic steps should include the official inclusion of DG in priority adaptive programs, state support for UDGA activities, and regulatory adjustments to remove administrative barriers and accelerate the standardized construction of disc golf courses.Downloads
