The aim of the article is to identify and scientifically substantiate the features of using various forms of health-oriented recreational physical activity to enhance students’ motivation for regular participation in physical exercises within the modern educational process. Particular attention is paid to the development of a stable interest in physical activity as a factor in maintaining and strengthening the physical and mental health of students. The study employed a combination of theoretical and empirical methods: analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature on physical education and motivation; pedagogical observation; student surveys to identify motivational priorities; comparative analysis of student engagement in physical activity; and statistical methods for processing and interpreting the results obtained. The study found that the use of diverse, emotionally engaging, and accessible forms of recreational physical activity positively affects students’ motivational sphere. An increase in intrinsic motivation for physical exercises, higher levels of interest and regular participation in physical education and wellness activities, as well as improvements in subjective assessments of personal well-being and work capacity, were observed. It was demonstrated that focusing on students’ individual interests, needs, and prior physical experience contributes to the formation of a positive attitude toward physical activity. The application of health-oriented recreational physical activity is an effective means of motivating students to engage in physical exercises. Implementing such activities in the educational process promotes increased physical activity, the development of health-preserving behavior, and the conscious need for physical self-improvement. The results obtained can be applied in the practice of physical education in higher education institutions.Downloads
