The purpose of the article is to highlight the importance of creating a safe and healthy learning environment in preschool education institutions in Ukraine under martial law. In the course of the study, the scientific works of domestic scientists who investigated the conditions for the formation of a safe educational environment in preschool education institutions were analyzed. The results revealed that preschool education institutions play a key role in shaping the personality of children, ensuring their harmonious development and preparation for further schooling. The priority directions of activities of preschool education institutions in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine are pedagogical interaction with children, organization of the educational process in various formats and overcoming educational losses, organizational and methodical support of leaders and teachers, organization and support of a safe educational space. A safe environment means creating conditions conducive to the comprehensive development of a child, taking into account his physical, emotional, intellectual and social well-being. Creating a safe educational environment is one of the priority tasks of modern educational institutions, especially in the conditions of military operations. This task requires the joint efforts of heads of educational institutions, teaching staff of children’s parents, as well as the public. Special attention should be paid to the safety of buildings of preschool education institutions. The organization of a safe educational environment and the arrangement of shelters are becoming one of the most important tasks for the heads of educational institutions. In the conditions of war in Ukraine, the health of citizens becomes one of the key priorities of national development. For this reason, preschool education institutions are faced with the need to strengthen and preserve children’s health. Educators and teachers need to know basic methods for reducing nervous tension and anxiety in children. Such methods included physical culture and health measures, medical and preventive measures, technologies for ensuring optimal mental and social health (color therapy, music therapy, relaxation, etc.). Since the formation of a safe and healthy educational environment is a critical task and will be relevant in the period of post-war recovery, the key directions for improving this process in preschool education institutions were highlighted. The conclusions concluded that in order to organize a safe educational environment in modern preschool education institutions, it is necessary to equip appropriate shelters, maintain effective communication with parents, and adapt programs and teaching methods to the needs of the modern environment.
