Practical aspects of researching the problem of entrepreneurship and financial literacy competence formation among 10th grade students

The article is devoted to the results of a monitoring research of the level of the competence "entrepreneurship and financial literacy" among students of 10th grade of secondary education institutions, initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine and conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after Oleksander Yaremenko in 2024. The research enabled to diagnose the state of development of the problem of diagnosing the level of formation of the competence "entrepreneurship and financial literacy" among students. The article gives description of the research toolkit which was constructed based on the competency-oriented tasks of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), aimed at the ability to apply knowledge from a particular field in situations close to real life, the ability to analyze, distinguish the necessary and adequately interpret information. The comparison is established regarding the compliance with the framework of financial competencies of children and youth of Ukraine. The pedagogical conditions and educational and methodological principles are described, which are necessary for the formation of entrepreneurship and financial literacy competence at positive attitude towards mastering it among students of secondary education institutions. The relationship between the level of competence formation (awareness) in entrepreneurship and financial literacy among students at secondary education institutions of the 10th grade and the following factors is described: availability (absence) of practical experience with money and finances / practices of financial literacy (expense planning, budgeting, savings, setting financial goals); defined (undefined) professional orientation, available job/part-time job; use of financial products (bank account, payment card, deposit, etc.); availability of systematic training (lessons / electives / extracurricular activities); home education regarding financial issues, involvement in managing the family budget or family business; self-study of the topic (reading specialized literature / studying sources on the Internet). The article outlines the prospects for further research into the problem of forming entrepreneurship and financial literacy competence among students of secondary education institutions.Downloads
