Abstract

The purpose of the study is to substantiate an integrative approach to learning English-language occupational safety terminology within the professional training of future choreographers, taking into account the specifics of their professional activity, which involves a high risk of injury, significant physical loads, and international mobility. The study is based on an analysis of scholarly literature in dance medicine, choreographic pedagogy, movement biomechanics, and occupational safety. Methods of systematization were employed to develop a thematic classification of English-language terminology; comparative analysis was used to identify terms that reflect profession-specific risks in choreography; and generalization was applied to formulate methodological principles and organizational forms of instruction. English-language occupational safety terminology relevant to choreographic activity was systematized and grouped into the following blocks: organization of a safe dance environment, technical equipment, anatomy and biomechanics of movement, injuries and pathological conditions, prevention and rehabilitation, hygiene and healthy lifestyle, and psychological well-being. Specific terms related to pointe work, partnering, age-related risks, and movement loads were identified. Methodological principles were defined, including professional orientation, interdisciplinarity, communicative focus, systemic coherence, contextual conditioning, embodied learning, multimodality, authenticity of materials, and the creation of smooth languaging spaces. Forms of integration were developed: traditional (lectures, practical classes, seminars), interactive (role-playing, case studies, projects, debates), innovative (spoken word choreographies, workshops, exchanges), and digital (Moodle courses, VR simulations). Practical recommendations include the phased implementation of modules, the development of glossaries, comprehensive assessment, the creation of manuals and workbooks, professional development for instructors, and the formation of a motivational environment through extracurricular activities. The integrative approach ensures the holistic development of professional competencies in future choreographers, enhances their competitiveness in the international labor market, and contributes to injury prevention and effective communication. It overcomes the isolation of disciplines by integrating language training with choreographic practice, which is particularly relevant in the context of globalization and Ukraine’s European integration.
