Abstract

The study focuses on the use of online resources as an effective means of increasing the motivation of students of non-linguistic specialties to learn a foreign language. The purpose of the article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the impact of online resources and digital technologies on enhancing foreign language learning motivation among students of non-linguistic specialties, as well as to generalize scholarly approaches to the pedagogically sound integration of information and communication technologies into the foreign language teaching and learning process. The research employs methods of theoretical and comparative analysis, systematization, and synthesis of findings from national and international academic studies addressing issues of motivation, technology-enhanced learning, and foreign language instruction through web-based tools, game-based environments, computer-mediated communication, and mobile technologies. It has been established that Web 2.0 tools and services foster communicative activity, collaboration, and self-expression; game-based technologies and multi-user virtual environments provide immersive experiences, stimulate interest, and sustain motivation; synchronous and asynchronous communication tools intensify learning interaction and promote positive attitudes toward language learning; and mobile technologies create conditions for continuous, contextualized, and personalized learning. At the same time, it is demonstrated that increased motivation does not automatically guarantee improved learning outcomes without due consideration of pedagogical relevance and the quality of learning tasks. The study concludes that online resources are an effective means of enhancing foreign language learning motivation among students of non-linguistic specialties, provided that they are integrated into pedagogically grounded, goal-oriented, and activity-based learning activities. Prospects for further research are associated with the development of models of technology-enhanced learning aimed at combining the motivational potential of digital resources with the achievement of high learning outcomes.
