Abstract. The article explores the role of game-based technologies as a tool for developing life competencies in preschool children within the framework of a competence-based approach. The authors analyze modern theoretical concepts of child competence development, particularly the integration of cognitive, social, linguistic, and life domains in early childhood education. The main types of game-based technologies actively used in pedagogical practice are examined, including didactic and role-playing games, interactive exercises, educational projects, and games simulating real-life situations. It is demonstrated that game-based technologies contribute to the development of social adaptation, communication skills, independence, and life competencies in children, while also stimulating their creative and cognitive activity. Pedagogical conditions for the effective use of game-based methods include creating a developmental environment, integrating different types of activities, fostering systematic peer interaction, and actively involving parents. The article provides methodical recommendations for preschool educators on using game-based technologies as a tool to develop life competencies. Prospects for further research are outlined, including the development of differentiated models for competency formation, evaluation of the effectiveness of game-based methods, and integration of digital technologies into the educational process.Downloads
