Abstract

Abstract: The article examines the formation of digital competence among participants of the educational process within a STEM-oriented educational environment, using the example of Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. G. Korolenko. The study is based on a multi-level interaction model that integrates the activities of higher education students, university lecturers, primary school teachers, and elementary school pupils. Within the framework of this model, a creative project was implemented focused on the production of wooden Christmas decorations, providing practical application of digital and technological competencies, as well as fostering project skills, creative thinking, and team collaboration. The analysis of results indicated that the proposed model ensures the integrity of the educational process, develops professional and digital competencies in future teachers, and cultivates foundational digital, technological, and project skills in younger pupils. The article demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating digital environments and STEM approaches in primary education, highlights the pedagogical conditions conducive to the development of creative and critical thinking, and provides methodological recommendations for implementing multi-level projects in educational practice. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the role of interdisciplinary cooperation in enhancing students’ motivation and engagement. The results suggest that the model can be adapted to various educational contexts to support lifelong learning and professional development. The research contributes to the theoretical understanding of STEM-based education and offers practical insights for curriculum design. Finally, it underlines the importance of continuous evaluation and feedback to ensure the effectiveness of digital and project-based educational initiatives.
