Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to provide a theoretical substantiation and develop an updated physical education methodology for future designers, integrating professionally-oriented components to foster cognitive flexibility, professional mastery, and psychophysical resilience. The research is driven by the necessity to overcome fragmentation in vocational training, positioning physical culture not merely as a supplementary tool but as a foundation for developing specific motor and intellectual skills. A comprehensive scientific approach was employed, including an analysis of scholarly literature on professional risks and the physiological mechanisms of a designer's labor. The modeling method was applied to expand the STEAM approach into a K-STEAM model by introducing a "kinesthetic element." The methodology encompasses a systemic analysis of correlations between motor abilities and academic performance in professional disciplines. The findings establish that a designer's professional activity is critically dependent on divergent thinking and highly developed fine motor skills, which serve as the basis for precise sketching and prototyping. Significant professional risks requiring specific prevention were identified. A modular physical education program consisting of four blocks was developed. It is proven that the development of "kinesthetic aesthetics" through physical education creates an internal intuitive standard of proportions, which directly translates into the visual harmony of design projects. Physical education in design education must transform into an integrative discipline that ensures the formation of three key competencies: cognitive flexibility, professional mastery, and professional resilience. The implementation of the K-STEAM model enables the activation of brain regions responsible for spatial planning, transforming movement into a tool for abstract thinking.
