Artistry of a future music teacher as the basis of his professional skills

Abstract. The purpose of the research is to study the current key aspects of the functioning of artistry, in particular, as the basis of the professional skills of a future music teacher. The following methods were used during the study: deduction and induction of scientific research, analysis of scientific literature, synthesis and generalization of scientific information. Research results. The modern understanding of the substantive essence of the categories important for revealing the research topic: artistry, pedagogical artistry, artistry of the future teacher of music and his pedagogical skills was analyzed. It was found that artistry is a multifaceted and multidimensional concept; it has a broad and narrow meaning; it functions at the everyday, personal, professional, artistic levels. In modern scientific literature, artistry is considered as the art of transformation, as the ability to purposefully restructure one’s psychological state, as an expression of a person’s rich inner state; pedagogical artistry is considered as a component of professionalism, as an integrative quality of personality, as a combination of technical skills and pedagogical wisdom, as a component, sign, manifestation, key aspect of pedagogical skills. It was established that the pedagogical skills of a teacher of music are the highest level of his professional activity, which is provided by a complex of professional knowledge, skills, methodological skills and his personal qualities. It is proven that the artistry of a music teacher is the basis of his professional skill, which allows him to carry out professional pedagogical activity at the level of art. The importance and significance of artistry in the professional activity of a teacher and, in particular, a music teacher is emphasized. Conclusions. The conducted research allowed us to formulate our own understanding of artistry – as the ability to express and transform, which is externally manifested through body plasticity, gestures, facial expressions, eyes, voice timbre, intonation, and internally provided by a complex of psychophysical characteristics, personal qualities, character traits, creative and special abilities, skills and abilities; and the artistry of a music teacher – as a manifestation of his creative individuality, which includes the act of co-creation of the teacher and students, makes the educational process more intense and rich, contributes to better inclusion of students and a deeper assimilation of educational material by them. Artistry is one of the leading components of professional competence, an important component of pedagogical and performing skills, the basis of the professional skills of a future music teacher.Downloads
