Abstract

Abstract: the article presents the justification of the program of skipping classes for high school students to improve their health. The program was implemented in physical education lessons during the school year. The purpose is to determine the impact of skipping means on the physical health of high school students. Methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experiment, express assessment of somatic health according to the method of G.L. Apanasenko, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: 145 high school students took part in the pedagogical experiment. 70 of participants were boys and 75 were girls. During the study, schoolchildren were divided into four experimental and four control groups depending on age and gender. For the experimental groups, a program of classes using skipping means was proposed. It was implemented during physical education lessons. In the first, second and fourth quarters, skipping means were used in the preparatory, main or final parts of the lessons in the variable modules “Track and Field”, “Football”, “Volleyball” depending on the tasks of the lessons. In the third quarter, skipping was used throughout the lesson. A variable module “Skipping” was developed. The control group studied according to the program of a general secondary education institution, which included the variable modules “Track and Field”, “Football”, “Volleyball”, “Basketball”, “Gymnastics”. The results of the study showed an improvement in the physical health of students in the experimental groups according to the Robinson, Roufier, strength indices and general health. In addition, there was a redistribution of the health levels of boys and girls in the experimental groups – from low and below the average to safe levels – average, above the average and high. Conclusions: the results of the study indicate the effectiveness of using skipping as a mean of physical education of high school students to improve health and functional indicators. It can be recommended for use not only in class, but also in extracurricular forms of classes.
