Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of scientific and practical sources to generalize global trends and identify critical, understudied aspects of veteran sport within the context of contemporary Ukrainian realities. The research employs methods of theoretical analysis, systematization, and generalization of scientific data, comparative analysis of international practices (specifically the models of the USA, Great Britain, and Canada), and an analysis of the statistical dynamics regarding veterans' involvement in the sports movement in Ukraine. Key technological trends (artificial intelligence, phygital sports, augmented and virtual reality) transforming rehabilitation processes were identified. Successful funding and support models were analyzed, including the US grant system and the British synergy between the state and the charitable sector. A rapid increase in the activity of Ukrainian veterans was established, driven by the implementation of digital services in the "Diia" application. Specific medico-social risks were outlined: the correlation between PTSD and cardiovascular diseases, threats of traumatic brain injuries, and the psychological phenomenon of "post-competition depression". t is substantiated that veteran sport should function as an integrated ecosystem where physical recovery is inextricably linked to professional psychological support and the active involvement of family members as a key factor in preventing isolation. The critical necessity of introducing mandatory cardiac monitoring for veterans with PTSD symptoms prior to commencing intensive training was determined. The priority of safety over competitive results was emphasized. The importance of establishing systemic support models for athletes in the post-competition period was highlighted to mitigate the risk of "post-competition depression" and ensure the sustainability of positive psychophysiological changes. Further research should focus on developing standardized load-dosing protocols, enabling the transformation of veteran sport into a foundation for a new inclusive culture within society.
