Abstract

Abstract: The article provides a comprehensive theoretical and methodological analysis of the problem of training modern specialists in psychology within the context of higher education transformation in Ukraine. Primary attention is devoted to the study of natural science disciplines as a fundamental component of the professional development of future Bachelors of Psychology. It is substantiated that the relevance of studying the natural science block is driven by the interdisciplinary nature of modern psychology, where understanding the basics of biology, physiology, and neurosciences allows students to deeply comprehend the complex mechanisms of human behavior and mental processes. The paper provides a detailed analysis of the role of basic disciplines such as Anatomy of the Central Nervous System (CNS), Psychophysiology, and Neuropsychology. It is demonstrated that knowledge of the anatomical structure and functional organization of the brain is critical for the correct interpretation of cognitive, emotional, and volitional disorders in the future practical activities of a psychologist. Psychophysiological training is considered a means of mastering the physiological mechanisms of perception, attention, memory, and stress reactions, forming the basis for scientifically grounded diagnostics and psychocorrection. The neuropsychological component is defined as a link that combines psychological knowledge with the achievements of neurosciences, forming the ability to analyze the consequences of local brain lesions. The authors have identified a significant gap in the contemporary scientific discourse of Ukraine regarding the systematic empirical analysis of the impact of natural sciences on the formation of professional competencies. It was established that despite the formal presence of these disciplines in curricula, there is an insufficient level of their integration with core psychological courses and a lack of awareness among students regarding their applied significance. The article emphasizes the need to modernize educational content by incorporating modern neurobiological achievements, digital tools, and international experience to enhance the quality of bachelor's training. Conclusions are formulated regarding the prospects of further research in the direction of assessing the impact of natural science training on academic performance and the readiness of graduates for evidence-based practice.
