Abstract

Abstract. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of organizational and pedagogical mechanisms of patriotic education of future specialists in the security and defense sector of Ukraine in the context of full-scale armed aggression. The theoretical foundations of patriotic education as a pedagogical category are substantiated, distinguishing it from ideological indoctrination through its focus on forming value orientations, critical thinking, and voluntary participation. Three structural components of patriotism as a pedagogical construct are identified: cognitive (knowledge of history, culture, legal system), affective (emotional attachment, national identity), and behavioral (readiness for active action, service, volunteering). The structure of the organizational-pedagogical mechanism is revealed, including target, content, procedural, organizational, performance, and reflexive components, along with its content directions: spiritual-moral, cultural-historical, civic-legal, and military-patriotic. The educational, extracurricular, and self-educational forms of patriotic education in higher education institutions of the security and defense sector are analyzed, as well as narrative, discussion, project-based, and immersive methods. Special attention is given to the role of the educational environment of the institution as a hidden curriculum. The transformation of the educational process under wartime conditions is examined: working with cadets' traumatic experience, pedagogical support for combat veterans, counteracting demoralization and emotional burnout, and developing media literacy as an integral component of patriotic education. The criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of educational mechanisms by parameters of systematicity, continuity, integration, and subjectivity are outlined, along with prospects for their improvement considering the European experience of democratic citizenship. It is concluded that the optimal model of the mechanism is subject-dialogical, integrative, and competence-oriented, combining state devotion with professional responsibility and democratic consciousness.
