Abstract: The preparation of future doctors for educational work is presented as a pedagogical approach based on the interdisciplinary integration of educational components. The purpose of the article is to present the implementation of a methodology for preparing future doctors for educational activities based on an interdisciplinary approach within the practice of a medical university. Methods. To achieve the set objective, a comprehensive analysis of the educational programme in the field of «Medicine» was carried out; thematically related educational components were identified and grouped into thematic blocks of educational content;. Results. The methodology for preparing future doctors for public education activities was implemented by identifying a specific public education topic (content-and-objective module), identifying the Educational Program's academic disciplines within this topic, and facilitating student activities aimed at educating consumers on a specific general topic within each of these disciplines. The following thematic areas were identified: «Rehabilitation education», «Care considerations», «Special audiences», «Communication», and «Health education for the general public». Future doctors were prepared for their educational work through their involvement in simulation sessions, communication training, the creation of informational materials, the preparation of public presentations, and the use of case-based methods in their work with patients. The interdisciplinary training of medical students in health education culminated in a research project, the content of which comprised elements of tasks carried out within each of the disciplines in the module The quality of the project was assessed according to the following criteria: relevance of the information to the event’s objectives; clarity of explanation; communicative effectiveness; practical value of the recommendations. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the methodology for preparing future doctors for public engagement activities based on an interdisciplinary approach stems from the integration of educational components into content- and objective-oriented public engagement modules. This enables students’ attention to be focused, within the teaching of these disciplines, on aspects that can be utilised in engaging the general public, and helps to develop comprehensive professional competence in future doctors, alongside an awareness of the social significance of the knowledge they have acquired.Downloads
