Project activity as a means of forming innovative competence in technological education

The purpose of the article is to scientifically substantiate the possibilities of project activity as an effective pedagogical means of forming innovative competence of education seekers, as well as to determine the organizational and methodological features of its implementation in the system of technological education. Methods. In the process of research, a set of general scientific methods was used, in particular, analysis and generalization of scientific sources on the problem of forming innovative competence, systematization and interpretation of theoretical approaches to organizing project activity in technological education, comparative analysis of scientists’ views on the content of innovative competence, as well as structural and logical analysis to determine the organizational and methodological features of implementing educational projects. Results. The article reveals the theoretical principles of the formation of innovative competence in technological education and clarifies its content as an integrated characteristic of the personality, combining a system of technological knowledge, design and construction skills, the ability to creatively solve technical and technological problems, and the ability to evaluate the results of activity. The pedagogical potential of project activity as a form of organizing the educational process, which ensures the integration of cognitive, research and practical activities of education seekers, is substantiated. The key organizational and methodological features of the implementation of project activity in the process of technological training are identified, in particular, the phasing of educational projects, changing the nature of interaction between participants in the educational process, the use of various types of educational activity and the orientation towards the creation of practically significant results. Conclusions. It is proven that project activity has significant pedagogical potential for the development of innovative competence among education seekers, as it contributes to the development of creative thinking, research skills, and the ability to analyze problem situations and make technological decisions. Its use in technological education creates conditions for integrating theoretical knowledge with practical activities, thereby ensuring the training of specialists capable of developing, implementing, and improving innovative technological solutions.
