Abstract

Abstract: The article considers andragogy as a theoretical foundation of corporate training and analyzes the specific features of implementing its principles in the modern professional environment. The relevance of the study is defined by the growing role of adult learning in the activities of corporations seeking to improve employees’ professional development, adaptation to change, engagement, and readiness to perform new job tasks. It is emphasized that corporate training, as a component of adult education, is based on taking into account the specific characteristics of the adult learner, their prior experience, need for autonomy, practical orientation of learning, and internal motivation. The paper summarizes the main theoretical approaches to adult learning that view experience as central factor in the learning process. Despite important differences among these approaches, they all emphasize the active role of the adult learner, the significance of learners’ life and professional experience, the connection between learning and real-life needs, and the significance of motivational and contextual factors. Special attention is given to the practical implementation of andragogical principles in the corporate sector. It is found that their implementation is manifested in the needs-based and practice-oriented nature of training, the use of employees’ experience as a resource for learning, the stimulation of self-directedness, the application of active and interactive methods, as well as the design of onboarding and professional development programs aligned with the organization’s overall goals. The study substantiates that the effectiveness of corporate training depends on the consistent organization of its stages: identification of educational needs, formulation of goals and objectives, motivational support, proper planning, creation of a favorable learning environment, and systematic evaluation of results. The findings suggest that andragogy in corporate training is not merely as a set of individual principles, but as an integral conceptual framework that ensures the effectiveness of adult professional learning, increases its practical value, and contributes to the more effective development of the organization’s human capital.
