Hermeneutic Approach to the Formation of Professional Foreign Language Communicative Competence of a Future Specialist in International Relations

The article substantiates the problem of improving the quality of future international relations specialists training in accordance with the strategic goals of modernization of the teaching process in higher educational establishments of Ukraine, on the basis of humanistic paradigm, which requires the use of innovative approaches, such as hermeneutic; considers scientific conceptual directions for determining the essence of the phenomena of "hermeneutics", "understanding" in the context of: philosophy, sociology (J. Grondin, V. Dilthey, G. Gadamer, M. Heidagger, V. Schleiermacher, etc.), psychology (K. Bailey, S. Henriksson, J.-M. Dewaele, and S. Li, etc.) and pedagogy (A. Linenko, V.V. Garaga, etc.); determines the influence of the hermeneutic approach on improving the quality of professional training of future specialists in higher educational institutions. The purpose is to substantiate the hermeneutic approach to the formation of professional foreign language communicative competence of a future specialist in international relations in the process of teaching foreign languages. Scientific novelty. The productivity of the hermeneutic approach in the design of foreign language teaching is substantiated based on the structuring of educational material according to the level of development of foreign language communicative competence. Methodology, methods and techniques. The article is based on a study of the phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, which is aimed at updating the interpretative potential of the content of the study. The methods of theoretical analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, comparison, modeling, included observation were used. The empirical study was conducted during one academic year (from September 2023 to June 2024) in foreign language classes for a professional orientation with the participation of 47 applicants studying in the field of knowledge C "Social sciences, journalism, information and international relations". Results. The data obtained as a result of the study confirmed the effectiveness of structuring the content of training according to the level of development of foreign language communicative competence. During the final testing of communicative and professional skills and abilities, the majority of applicants demonstrated confident mastery of the basics of professional communication in English. Compared to the initial stage of the study, the students' professional communication in English became more productive. The statements were distinguished by their meaningfulness, structure, involvement of additional material from other fields of knowledge, emotional and value coloring: the use of metaphors, idioms, statements of famous personalities, precedent texts, the ability to improvise, etc.Downloads
