Abstract

Objective. The purpose of the work is to study the features of motivation for badminton among athletes with hearing impairments and to determine the ways of its formation. Research methods: analysis and generalization of scientific literature; questionnaire method; mathematical statistics method (calculation of the chi-square criterion to check the mutual independence of two variables in the correlation tables). Participants: badminton players with hearing impairments (10 girls and boys) of the teenage age (Vinnytsia and Dnipro). Results. A set of motivational classes aimed at forming an idea of the "ideal sports image" in athletes with hearing impairments, increasing interest in competitive activities, developing technical and tactical thinking and psychological resilience has been developed and implemented. The classes included group discussions, work in small groups, analysis of video materials of competitions, watching a motivational film, as well as meetings with experienced athletes and an invited speaker, which contributed to the awareness of the importance of motivation in sports activities and personal development. Generalization of the survey data and observations allows us to assess the effectiveness of the applied set of measures in the development of the motivational sphere of athletes. The results of the analysis showed a statistically significant increase in most components of motivation of athletes with hearing impairments, in particular the personal, social, cognitive and psychogenic spheres, as well as resistance to stress (p<0.05;0.01). At the same time, changes in material motivation were insignificant and statistically insignificant (p>0.05), which indicates its secondary role compared to personal, social and professional factors. Conclusions. The results obtained confirm the effectiveness of a comprehensive approach to the formation of motivation in athletes with hearing impairments, which ensures the comprehensive development of key components of the motivational sphere through a combination of visual, interactive and creative methods of influence.
