Abstract

Introduction. In modern conditions of globalization, sport serves not only as a sphere of achievement but also as a space for intensive intercultural interaction and personality formation. However, narrow professional specialization often limits the socio-cultural development of athletes, creating obstacles to their subsequent adaptation in society. Objective. Substantiation and development of a structural-functional model for the socio-cultural convergence of athletes entitled "Sport as an Instrument of Cultural Dialogue" to resolve the contradiction between narrow professional specialization and the need for harmonious personality development for successful social integration. Methods. A systematic approach, theoretical analysis, and systematization of multidisciplinary perspectives were applied. The conceptual apparatus (specifically the "axiological converter") was constructed using the abstraction method. The architecture of the "Sport as an Instrument of Cultural Dialogue" structural-functional model was designed through structural-functional modeling. Theoretical deduction and comparative analysis were utilized to identify patterns of socio-cultural support. Results. The study explores the socio-cultural potential of sport as an environment for accumulating individual capital. The "Sport as an Instrument of Cultural Dialogue" structural-functional model is presented, viewed as a non-linear, spiral process of transforming professional experience into stable internal competencies. The model integrates four functional blocks: accumulation of resources (coaching, mobility); conversion mechanisms (the "axiological converter" operation, cultural reflection); capital consolidation (formation of cognitive flexibility); and the output circuit of value retransmission (social mission, volunteering). It is substantiated that the model allows for transforming physical mobility into an intellectual asset. Conclusions. It is proven that the accumulation of socio-cultural capital requires methodological support. The implementation of the "Sport as an Instrument of Cultural Dialogue" structural-functional model ensures the transformation of experience into stable ethical convictions, strengthening resilience to challenges. Educational coaching guarantees a seamless transition of social roles after the athletic career, establishing sport as a "soft power" resource in a global society.
