The study examines the model morphofunctional indicators and body mass composition of students engaged in freestyle wrestling at higher education institutions. The core parameters of physical development are identified, including anthropometric measurements, functional characteristics of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the segmental distribution of muscle and adipose tissues. The data obtained demonstrate the necessity of developing model characteristics to optimize the training process, individualize workloads, and increase the competitive efficiency of wrestlers. Objective - is to determine the morphofunctional features and body composition indicators of students practicing in the freestyle wrestling section of a higher education institution. Methods. A complex of methods was used: analysis of scientific literature, anthropometry, bioimpedance analysis of body composition, functional tests, and methods of mathematical statistics.. The research results It was established that the morphological status of the examined student-wrestlers corresponds to the mesomorphic type with well-developed skeletal musculature, particularly in the trunk and shoulder girdle. Segmental analysis showed symmetrical development of the muscle component, which is fundamental for technical and tactical mastery in close-range combat. Functional indicators indicate proper economization of cardiac activity and sufficient reserves of the respiratory system. An optimal ratio of active to passive tissues was revealed, along with the minimization of excess body fat, which is critical for maintaining weight category limits. The use of modern diagnostic methods allows for the creation of objective profiles of athlete readiness and sports selection in freestyle wrestling. Conclusions. The study proved that to increase the training efficiency of student-wrestlers, it is necessary to implement model characteristics into the practice of university sports sections. The data obtained will contribute to the improvement of sports selection mechanisms, the quality of pre-competition preparation, and the enhancement of the motor qualities of student-wrestlers.Downloads
